Gabrielle Saleh’s Article for the National Audubon Society

During my internship with the National Audubon Society, I was able to write an article about finding peace with birds and nature during the pandemic.

This summer, I started an internship with the National Audubon Society, as a Walker Social Media Fellow. Since I have had a passion for birds for a while, I loved being able to apply what I have learned from my strategic communication major to communicating through social media for Audubon.

My main focuses are writing copy for Facebook posts and tweets, creating and scheduling posts for Instagram and Instagram Stories, and performing community management on Facebook. However, I was also given the opportunity to write an article for Audubon’s website.

To do this, I visited a local Audubon center to learn more about how it was connecting to the Dallas community through virtual ways while it was closed to the public. While writing this article, I related my visit to the center with how birds and nature were a constant for me during the pandemic.

I loved writing this article, and I am so excited to share my visit to the center along with my passion for birds and nature with others.
